Tillamook County Wellness and Tillamook Estuaries Partnership bring you Part 4 of Four Seasons Of Foraging! Throughout the year we will co-host 4 events highlighting the unique foraging opportunities coastal Oregon provides.
Join us and local native plant expert Asa Skinner from Tillamook Estuary Partnership's Native Plant Nursery on Whalen Island for an afternoon learning to forage and about local ethnobotany! This workshop will introduce students to the basics of finding and identifying berries. Huckleberrys are known to be ready to harvest from this area at this time of year but there are no guarantees!

ViewWater Quality Volunteer Application
We are looking for a few more dedicated volunteers to assist in TEP's county wide bacteria monitoring program. This program has been running for over 20 years! Volunteers collect water samples across our watershed that are then analyzed for harmful bacteria concentrations. This data directly informs the community where to recreate safely in our watersheds! (link to bacteria map)
This opportunity requires volunteers to commit to a dedicated route of 8-12 samples collected every two weeks. We are currently looking for volunteers willing to complete routes near Oceanside, Nehalem, and Pacific City. If at all interested please complete the volunteer application linked here!
Water Quality Map by Tillamook Estuaries Partnership
Before you recreate, check the bacterial levels of Tillamook County's waterways. Our water quality map covers freshwater rivers and streams, as well as saltwater beaches. Levels are updated every two weeks thanks to our dedicated Volunteer Water Quality Program.
