Tillamook County Water Trail
What is a Water Trail?
A water trail is defined as a path on a waterway connected through signs, maps and access points providing a
scenic and educational experience for recreational users. A group of local citizens, the
Tillamook County Water Trail Committee, has a shared vision of developing a water trail system
throughout Tillamook County. Superior recreational opportunities exist in our five watersheds, covering approximately
1,800 miles of navigable water for every skill level from novice to advanced whitewater. The Water Trail Committee
selected TEP to manage the water trail project, acting as facilitator for the community-driven volunteer effort.
Where we are with the Water Trail:
TEP and the Water Trail Committee have completed Phase I of the project
- the 'Nehalem segment' of the Water Trail. A waterproof guidebook/map is now available and consists of photographs and
maps of the Nehalem area. Currently we are working on Phase II - the Tillamook Bay Watershed.

You can now review the Nehalem Water Trail Guidebook online, or email Julie Chick, Water Trail Project Coordinator, if you'd like us to mail you a copy of your own to take out paddling!
